My magazine advertisement - Tiegan
This is the advert I made to match my album cover and inner panel.
It fits with the theme I created, and shows some photoshop skill. It still shows the brand image, needed information, and a quirky look to it to grab attention.

Evaluation: Questionnaire Graphs
In my attempts to graph the answers to parts of our audience feedback questionnaire, I came to a realisation; most of our questions were far too open for answers to be reliably quantified. Those few that did allow for closed answers were incredibly skewed in the responses received, and while this indicates a positive reception overall, it made graphing these answers rather awkward.
Nonetheless, I have prepared graphs of general responses to questions 1, 2 and 6:
Nonetheless, I have prepared graphs of general responses to questions 1, 2 and 6:
As can be seen, the reception of our video in the audience feedback session was overall very positive, but the few people who answered "no" to these questions raised somewhat interesting points. For example, the group who answered "no" to Question 1 commented:
"The song was very energetic, but the actor in it didn't seem very into it."
Question 2 is perhaps the most interesting, with the largest disparity in responses. It could be argued that more answers of "no" would have indicated a more positive response in the context of this specific question; after all, our aim was to disregard convention and do something different, and we devised our artist's whole brand image to this end. Could we have done more to achieve this objective? Evidently so, according to these answers.

Planning; January 16th week review.
So far, I have finished the video! I also made the front cover and the inner panel for the album art on photoshop and with my graphics tablet. I am happy with the work I have produced and I now am completing all the Planning and Research left on the blog. This shouldn't take too long, then I can get a start on working on my Directors commentary, which I will be doing on my own, as I feel I should put in more input as I did the video myself.
Ross has spent the last 2 weeks working on the back cover and panel of the album, and has begun to form graphs from the questionnaires him and I produced for our audience feedback and is compiling the answers to make evaluation much more simple on that front.
Zaynab and Aaron have finished a poster for advertisement of our branded artist and are now working on the scripts for their own directors commentary.

Planning; The final video.
This is the final video of 'Northshore' by the artist we created in the branded image of 'Jess vs. The World'.
The song I used was Northshore by Tegan and Sara, and the video was made over the space of 2 months (for filming and editing, planning and research).
Video description; 'This is the music video I produced to fit the brand image of 'Jess vs. The World' made for my media task. We made this over the space of two months in the autumn/winter term. The genre is Indie-pop, and the original song is by Tegan and Sara. - Teigan Kiss.'

Planning; A rough draft of the video.
This is a rough draft we made of the video, it has a rough edit of all the parts we filmed so far. These clips were cropped and Chroma keyed and colour corrected all together to make it easier later on.

Final Album cover and first panel -Tiegan
This is the front cover I worked on, I really tried to incorporate the 'vs. the world' pars, as well as the comic aspect. So I used a RGB/CMYK base on the colours used, along with screen tones as the back ground. I was going to use black but I thought it might be too harsh to look at, so I used a dark grey with a more mellow effect. I then added the space, and used it in theme with the coloured circles I used. I added the Album name last; It was going to be in the bottom corner on the grey because grey and cyan compliment well, but then there wasn't enough at the top corner of the image so I put it there with a drop shadow.
I also drew Jess' character using an art program called Paint Tool Sai and my Wacom Bamboo graphics tablet.
This is the inner panel I used. Also incorporating the space theme to make it all wrap together (the rest of my group just did about comics..), To make her seem center focus I put her image on a planet, it looks out of place, but i think it still works well (2D image, combined with photos).I made planets on the nebula background, using cut out circles on photoshop of random images (space, a nebula..) I used a floral piece of fabric as the last planet, I think it looks cute.
The background idea I had was to start adding the comic aspect. I found a font on 'Dafont' called DC Comics, and I covered the background image of a nebula with all the logos in the font back (alphabetically, then numbers 1-9). I made the opacity on them half, so it blends with the space behind but is still noticeable and doesn't take the focus.

Planning: Where we intend to sell our product
When we have finished our product, we intend to sell copies of Jess Vs The World with major franchises. All of these franchises would ensure that we re-coup a profit from the products which we have created. We also feel that we would be able to sell copies of the music with these companies, as they are all major franchises which sell music aswell as several other items.

Album Advert -Zaynab and Aaron
This is the album advert for a magazine that Aaron and I created. As it was a comic game/somewhat of a video game theme, I drew pixelated images of a turtle and a kitten in Paint to empathize the theme, and then edited out the backgrounds, then imported them into InDesign and patterned them all down the page.
This is the result of the advert that Aaron and I both worked on.

Planning; Magazine advert research.
I chose to write about this Magazine advertisement as I thought it was very bold, and striking yet subtle. You can clearly define everything needed from the advertisement, e.g, track lists, all in a simple place. the title, TOXIC, followed by the 10.5 release date is minimalistic yet portrays the point well.
I noticed the bands name isn't actually on the poster, which i thought to be quite interesting, then again, those purchasing the type of magazine its found in would know that it is The Gazette.
the colour scheme also seems odd for this band, but the pink is very striking, it makes the album covers stand out much more in comparison.
